RiverClan Hunting Patrol

Moonmist waited for Pinespirit to join her on a hunt for fish.

Pinespirit padded over to Moonmist. "I'm ready, Moonmist!" Pinespirit said. She stood next to her and waited for a reply.

"Okay. Let's go hunt." Moonmist said.

Pinespirit stared deeply into the water when they arrived, and she peered closely. A couple heartbeats and a dark figure zoomed past. She lunged in, and her claws dug into the fish's scales, and through its body. She pulled the wriggling fish out and she plopped it onto the ground.

Moonmist stared into the water and suddenly reached in, hooking a fish by its gils and killed it easily, setting it by Pinespirit's.

Pinespirit stared deeply into the water again, and she flashed a look at Moonmist. She quickly raked her paw against the water, splashing the other warrior.

Moonmist shook her fur and laughed, splashing her friend a few times. She accidentally caught a fish, but killed it and flung it in the pile.

Pinespirit lashed her paw against the water again, back at Moonmist. When Pinespirit looked back at the fish, one was missing. She narrowed her eyes and looked around. "We've been snagged.." Pinespirit pointed out, looking back at the water.

"Huh?" Moonmist asked, looking at the fresh-kill to the river.

Pinespirit caught another fish, and set it in the pile. "Fox." She murmured.

Moonmist barred her teeth and looked around. "There's a den over there! The wind reeks of fox..."

Pinespirit twitched her ears. "You stay here. I'll go look to see if our fish isn't gone yet.." She quietly started to walk towards the den.

Moonmist kept the fish closer to her as she caught a few fish, and none of them disappeared.

Pinespirit caught a faint glimpse of a fox, and she rammed into it, and placed her paw on its chest. She slipped when the fox scrambled up and it snapped its powerful jaws at her. She swiped its snout, and quickly, another fox came and she saw 3 fox pups huddled in a corner. Pinespirit launched herself at the same one, and she bit its muzzle. The fox shook around, knocking her off. The two big jaws of teeth snapped at her again. Two foxes. One cat. A glint of light flashed off of something. Scales. From a fish!

Moonmist hid the fish as she heard noises of battle, barking. She ran to help her friend, launching herself at a fox and doing as much damage as she could.

Pinespirit flung herself at the pups and the foxes spun around and charged at her. She snatched the fish up and ran off with it. "Run!" She told Moonmist. She set the fish in a small pile and she sat down and panted lightly.

Moonmist let go of the big fox. It scratched her leg, and blood welled out of the wound. She darted past the fozes and forced herself to kill the pups-except one. She grabbed that one and darted off, trying to lure the foxes away from the fish and Pinespirit.
